Some Women experience additional hair growth during pregnancy or menopause.
Why use Elos Laser Technology over other hair removal systems?
It is the only technology that combines two forms of energy to get rid of unwanted hair. The Elos uses gentle light and bi-polar radio frequency energy overcoming the safety and procedural limitations of intense pulse light (IPL) and conventional lasers. It has been documented in over 40 Clinical Papers and realized in medical aesthetic practices around the globe.
How does Elos Laser Technology get rid of my hair?
The laser targets the pigment located in the hair follicle and shaft working synergistically with optical energy. The energy absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle is converted t heat which damages the hair follicle. This damage causes delayed re-growth of the hair and in most cases the permanent destruction of the hair follicle. A significant advantage of using Elos over Electrolysis, which treats one hair follicle at a time, is that hundreds of hair follicles can be treated at a time.
Is the treatment safe?
Treatment is very safe for the skin. There are many advances in the Elos technology that make it one of the safest hair removal systems available for all skin colors. There are no long term health hazards from light or electric energies used in the Elos. Both have been used in medicine, surgery and aesthetics without adversity.
What does the treatment feel like?
Most people tolerate the treatments very well. Discomfort is often described as a slight tingling or a pinch similar to the snap of a rubber band. Topical anaesthesia can be used when treating particularly sensitive areas of the body.
Are there any possible side effects?
The appearance of the treated area immediately following treatment will vary from patient to patient. Side effects, if any, are usually minor consisting of some redness and swelling around the treated follicles. This is desirable as it indicates that the follicle has responded to treatment and will dissipate quickly. On rare occasions, some blistering may occur but this typically resolves quickly. Limiting sun exposure before and after each treatment will minimize the risk of complications.
How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments required depends on the type of hair and the region being treated. This is due to the variation of the hair growth cycle in various regions of the body. The vast majority of clients are very happy with their results after 5-7 treatments. A precise cost and treatment estimate will be given at the initial consultation.
